Lanarkshire singer/songwriter John Malcolm has an accomplished and long-standing career in the Scottish Folk Music scene. As a solo performer and member of Scots Folk Group Cruachan, John's eclectic mix of Scots, Irish and American songs continues to be warmly received by audiences throughout Scotland and mainland Europe. John's songwriting ability was recognised during Glasgow's year of culture in1990 when he won a competition at the 'world famous' Scotia Bar in the city. Since then he has released a recording with Cruachan (Loose Change 1999) and two solo recordings (Bridges 2003 & Sands of Time 2008) on independent label.
Born and raised in Dundee, his work often reflects songs and stories from his formative years there and some of these have featured on national radio and television in Scotland. Johns latest album "Sands of Time" was chosen as an album of the week by Glasgow based Celtic Music Radio and he supported The Eliza Carthy Band at a concert in the city organized by the radio station.
