His songs are his friends. Some are new, recently acquired, others have been around all his life. They are all special to him though, sometimes forgotten, but brought out when the occasion demands.
He likes to have a laugh too. Parodies, poetry and tall tales are his weapons of choice. He has worked as a duo called Crooked Jack since very early days and although his original partner left in 2008, he has now been joined by the fantastic accordionist David Vernon. Together they are a crazy ceilidh and concert duo and because of the real fun they generate are in big demand for weddings and community events.
His music has taken him travelling too. New Zealand 16 times, but also Australia, Middle East, Far East, Europe and all over the home country. The gigs have ranged from major folk festivals, full tours in New Zealand, concerts for ambassadors and royalty, local pubs, concert halls and galas.
