Scotch Broth has been devised by well known troubadour, Dennis Alexander. It introduces and reintroduces the old Scottish children's songs many of us grew up with but are now in advanced stages of neglect because of the many diversions available in this modern age. It is aimed at festivals, community events and schools and consists of an hour long show. Many of the songs will be familiar to adults – The Red Yo Yo, Coulters Candy, Wee Willie Winkie, The Wee Kirkcudbright Centipede and Sam the Skull amongst many more!
Essentially a one man show, expect lots of participation in the songs, lots of laughter for kids and adults, a chance to join the orchestra and take part as well as become some of the characters in the show.
Dennis has had two successful children's shows prior to Scotch Broth with his duo Crooked Jack. The Skull Crusher Show was based on the famous sweets originally manufactured in his home town of Kirkcaldy and The Giant Jeely Piece Show was toured all over Scotland with some overseas performances too.
The show is completely self contained with a stage set, lighting and quality sound system.
