Tanninzie are an acoustic trio of Fiona Golder (Vocals), Ken Lorimer (Vocals and Guitar/Laud) and Mik Shaw (Vocals and Guitar). With an emphasis on strong, distinctive vocals, creative fulsome harmonies, and resonant instrumentation, they draw on traditional and contemporary sources and interpret the best from both in their own, inimitable style.
Material from their native Scotland is woven seamlessly with that from England, Ireland and the US to provide a unique and engaging musical experience. Respectful and passionate about their music, their performances reflect timeless themes through stories in songs old and new. Originally formed in the 1970s, the band are well experienced on the folk circuit. They've shared stages with Billy Connolly, Martin Carthy, The McCalmans, John Martyn, Archie Fisher, Barbara Dickson, The Tannahill Weavers, Fairport Convention and many more, at clubs, concerts and festivals. They've regularly guested at folk club concerts and have undertaken short tours in their own right. Tanninzie are available for house concerts, club bookings, public concerts and festivals.
