Aff the Cuff is a Carnoustie-based pub session band. The band has played for ceilidhs and weddings as well as pub-based events, private parties and concerts.
From Neil Gow to Dougie Mclean, from the Bothy Band to the Waterboys, Aff the Cuff take an eclectic view of the music they play. From an original loose-knit outfit called Shoot the Craw formed in 1988, Aff The Cuff came together as the Carnoustie session grew in size. The name was chosen when the musicians started doing gigs in and around Dundee.
Over the years, the band has played in a number of venues that have subsequently been closed - so publicans beware!! The band continues gigging regularly throughout Scotland and have kept up the Cuffie tradition of closing hotels and pubs all over Scotland from Montrose to Musselburgh!
The band's current line-up is Andy Davis on smallpipes, whistle, bodhran and vocals; Bob Doig on guitar and vocals; Jim Duke on mandolin and vocals; Ken Johnston on guitar, mandola and vocals; and Ian Hunter on fiddle, but not on vocals!
