The Staffin Island Ceilidh Band are a 5 piece outfit from Central Scotland, with a dedicated caller. No matter the audience, they've got it covered, with over 30 cover songs under their sporrans, a few traditional numbers, 18 dances and an array of tuneful arrangements.
Their lively, upbeat music will knock your kilt socks off, and their dedicated caller is excellent at getting bums off seats.
The bands music has taken them north to Staffin, at the tip of Skye and all the way south as far as the mountains of Bulgaria. They usually jump at any opportunity to have an adventure. Their dances range from the traditional, such as the Gay Gordons and Dashing White Sergeant, to the uncommon Witches reel and Huligan's jig, with a few more complex dances like Hamilton House, the Swedish Masquerade and Reel of the 51st available upon request.
Talking about requests, they love a creative challenge, and will happily learn a tune or two for your special event. They have a top of the range PA system, with PAT tested equiptment, public liability and a playlist of tasteful tunes for breaks between dancing and music.
